Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) is an antenna system that uses multiple antennas at both the transmitter and receiver to greatly improve the channel capacity. An obvious feature of MIMO system is that it has very high spectrum efficiency. On the basis of making full use of the existing spectrum resources, it obtains the gain of reliability and effectiveness by using spatial resources, at the cost of increasing the processing complexity of the transmitter and receiver. Large scale MIMO technology uses a large number of antennas to serve a relatively small number of users, which can effectively improve spectral efficiency.
